Ruth and Chris Vaz

Ruth and Chris Vaz are a married couple from India. They are passionate about Jesus and helping diverse peoples worship God in their first language. Ruth and Chris completed advanced studies from Fuller Theological Seminary. Despite their common passion and training, they are very different. Chris is a city boy and Ruth is a country girl. Chris likes the technical work of linguistics and translation while Ruth, the anthropologist, enjoys being with people, sports, gardening, and the outdoors. Whereas Chris grew up Catholic, Ruth was raised Hindu. They see in one another and their ministry a wonderful adventure led by God! At OMSC@PTS, Chris will be reflecting on ways that SIL and its partner organizations can provide academic support to Bible translation teams while Ruth will be reflecting on her own faith journey and the theological implications of the highly symmetric kinship system of the Madia tribe whom they serve in central India.
