Associate Professor of Interfaith and Comparative Religious Studies at Villanova University
Dr. Kerry P. C. San Chirico is an Associate Professor of Interfaith and Comparative Religious Studies at Villanova University, specializing in Global Religions, with a particular focus on Global Christianities and South Asian Religions. He earned his Ph.D. in Religious Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and holds multiple advanced degrees, including a Master of Theology from St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary and a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary. His research interests encompass interreligious studies, minority religions in India, and comparative theology. Dr. San Chirico has previously taught at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa and served as president of the Society for Hindu-Christian Studies. His recent book, Between Hindu and Christian: Khrist Bhaktas, Catholics, and the Negotiation of Devotion in Banaras (Oxford University Press, 2023), examines the intersections of Christian and Hindu devotional practices. At Villanova, he is an active member of the Interfaith Advisory Council, contributing to the ongoing dialogue between diverse religious traditions.
