With over three decades of ministry throughout Latin America, Rev. Ricardo Mayol-Bracero is a Global Server of International Ministries of the American Baptist Churches and the Global Ministries of the United Church of Christ and Disciples of Christ. He was ordained as Reverend in Puerto Rico in 1991 and has devoted his life to weaving the Gospel with social and environmental justice.
Drawing from his academic background in theology, planning and development, and anthropology, Ricardo has served as a pastor, teacher, and planner, working with diverse communities including Hispanics in the U.S., Afro-descendants in Costa Rica, indigenous groups in Mexico, and youth affected by violence in El Salvador. His ministerial dedication has led him to establish transformative theological centers such as the Mayense Intercultural Seminary in Chiapas, Mexico, and the Caribbean Theological Center in Limón, Costa Rica.
Across Costa Rica, Mexico, and El Salvador, Ricardo has led liberating theological and educational initiatives aimed at reconciliation and contextual transformation. His leadership style invites communities to embrace dignity and human rights as essential expressions of the Gospel.
He is the founder and current coordinator of the Continental Christian Network for Peace (RECONPAZ), based in the Christian Ecumenical Council of Guatemala. RECONPAZ mobilizes faith communities to address violence, ecological destruction, and systemic injustice. Ricardo accompanies its members in theological-pastoral formation and promotes justice and peace continent-wide.
