OMSC recently received news that former Trustee Rev. Dr. Seth O. Asare passed away in his sleep on August 12, 2017 at his home in Ghana. Seth forged lasting friendships everywhere he traveled, and had an impact on the Christian community. In 1984 he and his family moved from Ghana to Wakefield, Rhode Island. Seth answered the call to serve the Lord as a minister and was posted as pastor of the Cochesett United Methodist Church of West Bridgewater, MA, while pursuing his Master’s of Divinity at Boston University School of Theology. After completing his M.Div. he became the E. Stanley Jones Professor of Evangelism at Boston University. Following his career in the United States, Seth and his wife, Dorothy, retired to Ghana in 2011.

In addition to his service on the Board of Trustees, he was also an elder in the New England Conference of the United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy and their children Solomon, Ohene, Abena, and Amma.
