WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?

OMSC@PTS welcomes applications from those with a Ph.D. in World Christianity, Gender Studies, Religious Studies, or related fields. Highly qualified Ph.D. candidates will be considered. All Fellows must reside full-time on the Princeton Theological Seminary campus from August 16 to December 8, 2027.

HOW & WHEN DO I APPLY?

Each academic year, OMSC@PTS accepts a limited number of Research Fellows to participate in our Lamin Sanneh Research Fellowship. Applications are accepted each summer, and applicants are informed of the selection committee’s decision by the end of October.

WHAT THE FELLOWSHIP OFFERS:

  • Senior Scholars in Residence Mentorship
Each year, Senior Scholars in Residence who are experts in their fields will help lead the fellowship and mentor other scholars in their projects. They will be in residence for the first month of the fellowship and available remotely for the remaining duration of the program.

  • Library Access
All Research Fellows will have access to premier research resources at the Princeton Theological Seminary and Princeton University libraries.

  • Study Program Seminars, Lectures, and Conferences
Our seminars, lectures, and conferences are free of charge to Research Fellows and all current students, faculty, and staff of Princeton Theological Seminary. We welcome a limited number of external auditors to participate in our seminars.

  • Fully Furnished Apartments
Research Fellows will find everything provided when they arrive — furnishings, linens, cooking utilities, other household supplies, and free internet access. Apartments vary in size from one to three bedrooms. Telephone and television service is available at your own expense. Pets are not permitted.

  • Community Life
We are an ecumenical community offering a unique experience in international living that is intellectually, spiritually, and vocationally enriching. Our common life is guided by our unity in Jesus Christ and partnership in the work of God’s mission. As members of the Princeton Theological Seminary community, Research Fellows agree to abide by the policies as outlined in the Seminary Handbook. (Link it to the handbook)

  • Scholarships
The fellowship covers the full cost of housing and provides a limited stipend for living expenses.
