THE LAMIN SANNEH RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP
The Lamin Sanneh Research Fellowship is named in honor of the late Yale Professor Lamin Sanneh, a pioneer in the study of World Christianity. He served on the Board of Trustees and maintained an office at the Overseas Ministries Study Center, where he visited daily to enjoy tea and conversation. He also served as the Contributing Editor for the International Bulletin of Mission Research.
The Lamin Sanneh Research Fellowship is a highly competitive one-year hybrid residential fellowship. Fellows will reside in Princeton from August to December 2027 and complete the fellowship remotely from January to May 2028.
WOMEN IN WORLD CHRISTIANITY
Each year, we will identify a central theme to convene scholars with aligned areas of expertise, creating opportunities for mutually beneficial exchange, sustained encouragement, and collaborative scholarship.
For our inaugural year, we are excited to focus on Women in World Christianity.

- Produce an edited volume on “Women in World Christianity” with guidance from Senior Scholars in Residence
- Have access to premier research resources at the Princeton Theological Seminary and Princeton University libraries
- Be provided a full housing grant and a limited stipend
- Receive a Certificate in Women in World Christianity (with five Continuing Education Units)

Ph.D. in World Christianity, Gender Studies, Religious Studies, or related fields is required, though highly qualified Ph.D. candidates will be considered.
Applications are now open until September 1, 2026, for the 2027-2028 academic year.
