Meet Our 2026–2026 Artist in Residence 

Carmelle Beaugelin

Carmelle Beaugelin Caldwell is an interdisciplinary artist and visual theologian exploring themes of ancestral memory, sacred imagination, and cultural migration. Rooted in Haitian art traditions, theopoetics, and her South Floridian upbringing, her practice weaves together color, texture, and spiritual inquiry.

Her current primary medium is painting.

Carmelle earned a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts from Southeastern University. In 2022, she founded BeauFolio Studio, the platform through which she produces independent exhibitions, commissions, and interdisciplinary collaborations. Her work has been exhibited and commissioned by institutions including Interfaith America, Flagler College, Duke Divinity School, and A Sanctified Art.
