2009–2010 Artist: Jae-Im Kim

About

Jae-Im Kim belongs to the first generation of Korean abstract expressionists. Since her first solo exhibition in Seoul in 1960, her work has been exhibited extensively in Europe and Asia, in solo and group shows. Her colorful paintings, which are infused with oriental rhythms, have been part of larger exhibitions, such as the Korean Women Painters Association exhibition held at the National Museum of History, Taipei, Taiwan (1983), and exchange exhibitions held in Paris, France (1982), and Kathmandu, Nepal (1983). A 1960 graduate of the Department of Painting in the College of Fine Arts, Seoul National University, Kim is a member of the Korean Fine Arts Association, the Korean Women Painters Association, and the Asian Christian Art Association.
