Dr. Francis Ethelbert Kwabena Benyah

Dr. Francis Ethelbert Kwabena Benyah is an Assistant Professor at the Centre of African Studies and Centre for Privacy Studies at the Univeristy of Copenhagen in Denmark.  A native of Ghana, he was previously a researcher at the Department for the Study of Religions, Åbo Akademi University, Turku, Finland, where he earned his doctorate. Benyah’s research interest focuses on African Pentecostal Christianity with a special interest in how it intersects and interacts with public life in areas such as media, politics, health and human rights. Benyah is also a recipient of the prestigious Lamin Sanneh Research Prize and has served as a visiting scholar at the Princeton Theological Seminary, NJ, USA.  He also currently serves as a short review editors for Religions in Africa for the Journal Religious Studies Review hosted at Rice University and published by Wiley.
