Leonardo Marcondes Alves is a multidisciplinary researcher and biblical scholar specializing in the intersections of migration, Pentecostalism, and hermeneutics. After completing his PhD in Religion and Theology at VID Specialized University in Norway, Leonardo joins the Overseas Ministries Study Center (OMSC) at Princeton Theological Seminary as a Visiting Scholar (2026–2027), accompanied by his wife Carla and son Marco Antonio. He holds a PhD in Theology and Religion from VID Specialized University (Norway), an MA in Cultural Anthropology from Uppsala University (Sweden), and an LL.B. from the Federal University of Uberlândia (Brazil). His current research project focuses on how biblical narratives function as a theological toolkit for social mobility and civic engagement. In addition to his research, since 2015 Leonardo has served as a civil servant at EDUFU, the Publishing House of the Federal University of Uberlândia.
