Parker is a first year MTS student in the Department of History and Ecumenics. He was born and raised in Mississippi and grew up in the church with his Dad serving as an Associate Pastor in various Baptist churches. After high school, Parker attended a local community college before enlisting in the United States Marines, serving in Beaufort, South Carolina and Bangkok, Thailand. After his service, he received his B.S. in Recreation Administration from the University of Minnesota and subsequently an M.A. in International Affairs from Penn State University. Prior to coming to PTS and joining OMSC, Parker served on Secretary Blinken’s security detail as a Special Agent with the Diplomatic Security Service before leaving to spend more time with his family and ultimately discerning a call to seminary. 

 

His academic interests are diverse at the moment, but he hopes to pursue a PhD in the near future. Parker joins OMSC excited to be a part of the global church initiative while highlighting the international community through creative media.
