Yenny Delgado is an Abya Yala theologian and liberational psychologist whose scholarship focuses on decolonial, liberative, and feminist/womanist theological education. With more than fifteen years of experience, she has collaborated with social movements, faith communities, and regional governments. Her work focuses on using a theological lens to emphasize gender justice, migration rights, and decolonial education. She holds a Licentiate degree in Psychology from Federico Villarreal National University in Peru, a Licentiate degree in Theology from the Latin American Biblical University in Costa Rica, a master’s degree in public theology from Wesley Theological Seminary in the United States, and a second master’s degree in International Cooperation from Jaume I in Spain. Doctoral candidate in Social Science of Religion at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland.
Yenny is an ordained elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA) and is a member of the Advisory Committee on Social Witness Policy. She is also a member of the Steering Committee for the American Academy of Religion’s Status of Women and Gender in the Professions Committee and a Member of the International Ecclesiological Investigation Network. In addition to her ecclesial leadership, Yenny is the director of PUBLICA Theology, a digital public square where public and politics meet, offering in-depth theology leading dialogue. She is convener of Women Doing Theology in Abya Yala, an ecumenical and intergenerational womanist community that amplifies women’s theological voices throughout the continent. Yenny is the founder and coordinator of the Political Theology and Spirituality Network.
